Gaeilge
Subject Information
Junior Cycle Gaeilge focuses on key topics such as Mé Féin, Mo Chlann, Mo Shaol ar Scoil, Mo Cheantar agus Caithimh Aimsire. The subject is taught through use of the main language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking while incorporating the Junior Cycle key skills. Students are encouraged to choose areas for their CBAs which are of interest to them, promoting self directed learning. Senior Cycle Gaeilge is a continuation of Junior Cycle Gaeilge, with an emphasis on Literature, Oral Language, Comprehension, Composition and Listening. The oral exam is worth 40% in the Leaving Certificate - this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the student's overall knowledge of key topics and ability to communicate effectively.
